Economic Growth

Duluth is in a local business renaissance. Continuing this growth hinges on our ability to sustain responsible business and economic development. My business experience and ability to bring diverse stakeholders together, will move our city forward. I will be a strong business advocate.

Neighborhood Infrastructure

Moving Duluth forward starts in our homes and under our feet. Smart, sustainable choices, regarding our aging infrastructure and housing needs, affect all Duluthians. I will push to balance the development of new projects and everyday needs of our neighborhoods, streets, schools and parks.

Social Resources

Our community has many social resources dedicated to helping Duluth prosper. Building and sustaining these resources, and their organizations, is essential. I will seek knowledge from underrepresented communities to build stronger stakeholder relationships and will work hard to cultivate coalitions.

ELISSA IS A passionate, progressive, entrepreneurial Duluthian. She and her husband, Jon Loss, own Steam Creative Consulting. Jon is also partners in one of Duluth’s local craft breweries, Blacklist Artisan Ales. She is an outdoor enthusiast who also invests her time advancing other businesses and communities capabilities. She believes in building a city where the community, its businesses, and policies grow together with progressive roots.

ELISSA GREW UP in central Minnesota. She has an undergraduate degree and a Master’s degree from Northern Arizona University. She is a certified Economic Development Finance Professional with the National Development Council and a graduate of both the Leadership Duluth and Blandin Community Leadership programs. Elissa has also been honored as one of the Duluth News Tribune’s “20 under 40” top professionals who are making a positive impact and working for change in Duluth.
